RODNEY JONES
Rodney Jones was a nationally acclaimed radio personality heard in both Baton Rouge, Kansas City, St. Louis and Chicago.
He worked for more than 20 years at WVON-AM in Chicago and for WXOK-AM in Baton Rouge for 12 years, retiring from KQXL-FM two years later. Rodney Jones was a beloved air personality to the listeners of WVON -AM / Chicago in the 1960s and 1970s. He became known to the station's audience as one of "The Good Guys," five radio personalities handpicked by the owners.
Jones was a member of the Black Radio Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Living Legend Award in the Radio Smithsonian Institute.
