BROADWAY BILL LEE
Broadway Bill Lee is a well-established on-air personality best known for his succinct often rhyming conversations with his audience on each of the music stations he’s been heard on. This well-known veteran of radio got into the business in 1972, staring his career as Bill Lenkey in Hartford, CT, on WTIC-FM. On air, he became known as Bill Lee as he worked at legendary radio stations including KFRC-AM in San Francisco, WLOL-FM in Minneapolis, and KPKE-FM Denver, before landing in Afternoon Drive in New York City when he naturally became known as Broadway Bill Lee at HOT/103, later known as HOT/97.
During the late 80s, Bill maintained prominence in New York before heading back to San Francisco anchoring the New Jack Zoo at KMEL-FM. By the Spring of 1996, he returned to New York City for Afternoon Drive on WKTU-FM. Broadway Bill Lee later joined WCBS-FM in 2007 and has hosted Afternoon Drive since then.
His ability to turn a phrase and match the pace of the music he’s playing has earned him great ratings success.
In 2022, Broadway Bill Lee was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
